Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention



While caring for a child can be fun and exciting opportunity can be stressful and demanding. Especially if a person can not have any experience or knowledge of how a child react to different situations can easily lead to frustration mounted. In fact, the inadequate response inconsolable crying are the most common cause of shaken baby syndrome (SBS) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.



Shaken baby syndrome is a dangerous form of child abuse if a child violently in the hands of the head, shoulders or feet and shake occurs. This type of action can lead to traumatic brain injury can cause permanent damage and the conditions to cause death in children. SBS is often a rational response to frustration and it is never an acceptable way to discipline and interact with a child.

Shaken baby syndrome occurs most often in children younger than 4 months after their natural ability to develop and communicate by crying. Sorry, there are SBS cases in day care when a caregiver is responsible for several children. A supervisor may feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities and as such is activated in response to abuse.


Shaken Baby Syndrome, like any form of child abuse is a serious crime with serious consequences and should be taken seriously. This action can not be prevented and is a component of effective prevention is to ensure that the guilty pay the full extent of the law. This type of behavior is dangerous and unacceptable under any circumstances.
